WHAT DOES MEAN DIGITIZING FOR EMBROIDERY
What does digitizing mean for embroidery
Embroidery digitizing is a process. That converts artwork
into a digital file. By using software that allows embroidery machines to get to
know the needle’s path.
Most embroidery machines have software of their own. That
allows us to control their functions.
Many people think embroidery digitizing is as simple as
uploading your image on the computer. And assign the digitizing to the machine.
But it is not like that. The digitizers take the image in jpg and png format.
Then change it into an embroidery file. The embroidery file type is decided by
the type of embroidery machine. That you’ll use
Simple words Embroidery digitizing?
Digitizing embroidery is the process of creating files
containing commands to drive the movement of an embroidery machine’s hoop and
needles. These files will convert art into embroidery for apparel
embellishment, patch making or decorative repair.
The process of digitizing, however, is somewhat more
complicated. Digitizers interpret an image into stitches through a variety
of methods, using any one of a multitude of software and hardware combinations.
They may do so a single stitch at a time or by drawing shapes that they then
fill with stitches set programmatically to their own cocktail of variables
delineating stitch length, type, angle and density. Beyond this technical
definition, however, lies something nearer to the truth.
Embroidery digitizing, at its best, combines a measure of
scientific curiosity and a technical mindset with purposeful, artistic
interpretation, taking into account the unique properties of thread and fabric
as media. I know my definition may be cold comfort to those looking for a way
to ‘convert’ a graphic file automatically into embroidery- but though software
manufacturers have done their best to make it possible, the most expensive and
well-crafted software packages I’ve used have never been able to make the
technical and artistic decisions as well as even a dedicated amateur digitizer.
You are looking for a software-driven solution, my
description of the art will likely disappoint. If, however, you are a focused,
creative, and curious individual with a little of the scientist blended into
your artistic persona and are willing to embark on a journey to control the
powerful artistic tool that is your embroidery machine, you will be rewarded
with the keys to unlock a world of expression.
The basic steps of digitizing
For emb digitizing our keen digitizers follow the below
steps:
Step1: upload logo to the digitizing software
We @capital digitizing, are using Wilcom software. For
embroidery digitizing. Our digitizers convert the image into jpg or png format.
Step 2: set the size of the embroidery design
Then we mark the size of the embroidered logo or design. This
will be the exact design size. That would come out as sew out on the cloth.
Step3: choose the stitch type
In embroidery digitizing, each design is a lot to some type
of stitch. The basic types of stitches are: satin, run and fill stitches.
They’re changing in the designs. That’ll rely on the type of stitch. It also
relies on the direction of the stitch and time. At which it must start. And at
which it stops.
We also think about the cloth type. And the push and pull
effect of the cloth. When select the stitch types.
Step4: set the direction of the stitch
This is one of the most imp steps in embroidery digitizing.
Which can’t skip. This step is skipped. Then it could invite unwanted cuts.
Step 5: setting thread colors for embroidery
Digitizers paint with stitches. They select the colors for
emb from the color bar.
Step 6: Transfer the file to the embroidery machine
Our digitizers then transfer the emb file. In the format of
DST, Exp, Jef, etc. to emb machine. They have done it with a USB cable. It can
also be done. By a flashcard.
Step 7: preparing the embroidery machine to start embroidery
Capital digitizers then, select the right needles, thread,
and colors. Then they position the cloth in the embroidery frames. And then
slide them into the arms of the embroidery machine.
Step 8: the embroidery sew out
Then our digitizers go to the machines. To bring out a
sew-out. For their embroidered logo. In case alter is needed. Then they fix it.
So, they’re ready to embroider products with fine digitized logos.
Digitizing and Its Relation to Embroidery
Digitizing and machine embroidery go hand in hand. It is the
method by which the embroidery machine can interpret to stitch thread during a
specific way. The logos of each company utilized in a shirt, cap, or the other
clothing are often digitized. Digitizing embroidery is both art and science.
For any design, it’s to digitize before embroidery.
WHAT EMBROIDERY DIGITIZING IS NOT
Oftentimes I hear people mention “converting” files from a
digital graphic into an embroidery file, and it’s one among my big pet peeves.
Converting implies that you simply can push a button to form an embroidery file
from a picture. While most embroidery digitizing software does allow you auto
digitize areas in your image, true professional embroidery digitizing isn’t a
one-click task and requires some experience and know-how to achieve an honest
digitized file for machine embroidery.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU NEED TO DIGITIZE EMBROIDERY DESIGNS?
Most machine embroidery digitizing software runs on PCs.
However, you’ll install a PC emulator on your MAC and run any PC-only software
via an emulator. Embrilliance Stitch Artist is one among the few embroidery
digitizing programs which will run natively on a MAC.
A lot of digitizers wish to work with a tablet and stylus,
but these aren’t necessary accessories. If I am digitize a logo on my laptop, I
am comfortable with mouse to be easier to use while digitizing than the
mousepad built-in on my laptop.
